DO NOT BE DECEIVED!!! Satan will assure you that God wants you to be famous, rich, or even gay or passive or whatever you desire to be. he will assure you of that so that you will crack the Glory Jar you put aside for God and some of it will spill over into your cup. but DO NOT BE DECEIVED!!! God deserves and desires ALL the glory, 99.99% is not acceptable. the BIG PICTURE is greater than your mini dreams, do what is pleasing. spread the Good News to people with your life! man i’m speaking to myself! but serious satan tricked adam and eve in the garden by assuring her God wanted them to be like Him knowing all things, God didn’t want that did He? NOPE, they were deceived let us NOT BE DECEIVED!!!
I say this because the more i see these “Christian” artists they’re messages are becoming less Jesus and more them, their album covers are becoming more seductive, and culturally relevant, their verses more boastful in things that do NOT matter. i pray we not loos faith or sight of what matters! let us continue to pray that ALL of the Body continue on the path to salvation! :)
all the Glory belongs to YOU!
He makes us see how weak we are, He calls us away from comforts, He completely alters our view of the world and rids us of selfishness, and this is pleasing to God. we NEED Him.
teens & young adults make sex out to be such a BIG DEAL but treat it with such little care. firstly i must say i don’t agree with premarital sex, because it dishonors God’s plan for covenant through marriage and causes awfully hard to break soul ties with added unnecessary stress. but for the purposes of this thought i disregarded that. so sex is an important part of a relationship, because…. well i haven’t quite understood that, see i’m thinking we’re deceived into thinking it’s how we become intimate with our partner, but i don’t think we could even explain how. and the evidence of people not knowing sex’s significance is the unfaithfulness encountered. so let’s just go with this idea that sex must be apart of a relationship, it shows how much you love one another and it’s how we share intimacy, but if that were the case, why then do men & women alike cheat on their partners with people they barely know & won’t even dare to claim. people they call “one night stands” or “booty” it’s obvious they don’t care for that person, so how could sex be this means of sharing intimacy & love? it really doesn’t make sense does it?
so let’s just be honest, we like the way it makes us feel, but once we give in with our supposed partner, we’re prone to become addicts to it and will get it from anywhere at anytime. this is yet another desparate cry for our emptiness & vacant spaces where God belongs. He created man as a empty cup, He planned for Himself to be our substance but as we can see that plan was tampered with, but not a failure. For eternity Jesus will be our God, Our Father & Our Substance. i just pray to unbiasedly & unjudgmentally approach these deceived people to make them question their own motives. not just for premarital sex, but homosexuality, drunkenness, lusts, pride, drugs, & all sorts of evil desires. i pray that my brethren would do the same for me. :)
so while i was still at Purdue University, i took a Communications class about Critical Perspective, it really showed and taught me alot. Well i should say the Spirit through the class taught me even more! it was a class that kept many students from pursuing a major in communications, but a class i really enjoyed & passed with flying colors! not because i’m so smart but because i had a very useful Tutor who broke concepts down into real life application. i also must note the teacher was indeed a Christian, he always made mention of his faith, not overbearing though which i wish he would have but just enough to inquire more about God & Jesus. he did a fine job i thank God for him & His Spirit being upon him. but the point i was getting to is one day we learned about a man, Burke i think who said that any rhetorician should have an equal balance of Form & Information in their texts, or communication artifacts. quick lesson, rhetoric is like persuasion, trying to get an audience to see things the way you do & act/thing/believe accordingly. so rhetorician use many different texts to do that, whether it be speeches, pictures, structures, almost anything can be a text, and almost anyone can attempt to be a rhetorician but only few have been able to master the skill well. so Burke’s theory was that form was the style or the way the text was presented and information was the actual message that was being relayed. as i say only few men master the skill but sadly many of those few do it in and of their own will & desire, so the text is all so insignificant. especially in the church, i am seeing way too many preachers and pastors on extreme ends of the spectrum, either the church is a big theatre without any real information or it’s so information heavy it would bore you to death and lack any real application. the most important part of our texts or messages as Christian has to always be Biblically sound, and concerning the times they must always reflect & refer to Jesus’ saving work of salvation, we cannot afford to make history lessons our first priority, we must make Jesus the center of every ministry and the Gospel must go forth in all that we do, God wants every man to know He came for them & He died for them, He fought every battle against sin and won for them, He really really wants us. there is no intended form to that message, in that we are free to use our gifts but the information must remain the same, Jesus came, died, & rose again that we might know God & thus live forever with Him! :)
